LSU Bach Contest

Repertoire List
Sonatinas
- A. Any sonatina movement by Bastien, George, Cobb, Olson.
- B. Any sonatina movement by Spindler, Haslinger, Beethoven, Lynes, Attwood, Duncombe, Licher, Latour; or any movement from Gillock's Sonatina in G.
- C. Any sonatina movement by Clementi, Diabelli, Kuhlau, or a sonatina movement of comparable difficulty.
- D. Any sonatina movement by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, or a sonata movement of comparable difficulty.
Baroque
- A. Any simple movement or piece by a minor Baroque composer, such as Teleman, Couperin, etc. (no J.S. Bach).
- B. Any selection from Anna Magdalena Bach Notebook.
- C. Any selection from Bach Short Preludes, Fugues, or Two-Part Inventions; or any Scarlatti sonata.
- D. Any movement from the Bach French Suites, English Suites, Partitas, Italian Concerto, or any Prelude and Fugue from the WTC.
Guidelines for Participation
- Open to any pre-collegiate pianist. Level A limited to 5th grade and under. All other levels open to any pianist.
- No restrictions on movement from level to level in successive years, including Honors Concert participants.
How to Enter
Entry fee: $10.00
Send Teacher's Entry Sheet (one) and Rating Sheet (one for each student, one check payable to LSU Music Academy, and self-addressed stamped envelope to:
